CLASS INFORMATION
Burra & Districts Obedience Dog Club Inc. (the Club) offers classes to suit all dogs and handlers, from Puppies to "Senior Citizens".
Classes range from Basic Obedience and Agility, to specialised Puppy and Socialisation Classes. The Club also caters to those handlers wishing to continue training their dogs at higher levels including dog trialling.
Any dog is welcome at the Club, regardless of age, breed, sex or temperament, provided it is fully vaccinated.
OBEDIENCE
You will find Obedience Classes to suit both beginner dogs and those who already have some obedience skills.
Class levels commence with Learners and work up through the Levels of Classes 1-5. Whether you wish your dog to Sit, Stand, Lie Down, Come, Stay and Wait on command or simply to walk beside you on a lead without pulling, Obedience classes will help you to achieve this, whilst having fun at the same time!

PUPPY CLASS
The best time to start training your puppy is the day you bring it home. The Club caters to puppies from as young as 13 weeks of age, provided they have had at least two vaccinations.
All puppies are trained in a safe, fully contained puppy yard and are taught basic manners as well as standard obedience commands of Sit, Stand, Lie Down, Come, Stay and Wait.
Your puppy is also introduced to a variety of objects and everyday situations such as visits to the vet, loud noises, strange objects and being handled and groomed. Advice is also given on a range of topics including digging and chewing problems. Enrol your puppy in Puppy Classes today and help prevent problems at a later date!

All the puppies shown in this collage have graduated puppy class and have advanced through the grades in Obedience and are also in Basic Agility
AGILITY
Agility is similar to horse show-jumping and uses a variety of equipment such as jumps, tunnels, walkways and weave poles, set up in sequences and courses for you and your dog to complete.
It provides your dog with a break from formal obedience training and is a great way to promote health and fitness.
Agility can also help prevent boredom in your dog, especially in the Working breeds. The Club has a full set of competition standard Agility equipment and currently trains both on Sunday and on Friday evenings under lights.
Provided it is healthy and suitable for Agility training, your dog can commence these classes once it displays good off-lead control.

SOCIALISATION
Owning well-socialised dogs within our community is especially important in today's lifestyle and the Club offers a class to ensure that this happens.
Socialisation Classes teach your dog to happily associate with other dogs, people and animals and our Socialisation days enable you to introduce your dog to objects ranging from bicycles to sheep!
Socialisation Classes are particularly suited to puppies and young dogs (and the young at heart), helping them to grow up into happy, well adjusted adult dogs, which are a pleasure to own.
